Abstract
Proses adaptasi merupakan suatu hal yang kerap kali dialami oleh manusia apabila perlu untuk berada dalam situasi baru yang berbeda dari biasanya. Salah satu contohnya adalah
dalam memasuki jenjang pendidikan yang lebih tinggi, yaitu perkuliahan. Tentunya keberhasilan suatu adaptasi ditentukan oleh apa yang mendasari individu tersebut untuk
tetap bertahan pada situasi yang baru, dimana dalam konteks pendidikan, orientasi terhadap tujuan dan pencapaian maupun penggunaan strategi pembelajaran dapat menjadi faktor
yang mendukung proses adaptasi pada mahasiswa baru. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah goal orientation dan learning strategies dapat mempengaruhi tingkat adaptasi secara signifikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa
terdapat pengaruh signifikan yang diberikan Goal Orientation terhadap penyesuaian diri sebesar 23.4%, sementara tidak dapat dilakukan uji pengaruh pada variabel Learning Strategies terhadap penyesuaian diri. / The process of adaptation is commonly experienced by people when they need to be in
uncommon situations, which differ a lot from an ordinary situation. One of the examples is when someone chooses to pursue a higher degree of education, for example, by going to
university. Naturally, the success of an adaptation depends on what makes the person themselves choose to remain in a different situation. In an educational context, goal
orientation and learning strategies would be some potential factors to influence the process of adaptation for new undergraduates. Therefore, this study aims to determine whether goal orientation and learning strategies can contribute significantly to someone’s process of adaptation. The results indicated that Goal Orientation gives a significant impact towards new migrant student’s adaptation by 23.4%, whereas Learning Strategies was unable to be measured as a predicting variable.
