Media sosial, khususnya platform X (Twitter), berperan sebagai ruang publik tempat netizen berdiskusi hingga berdebat. Perdebatan dan diskusi mengenai peranan caregiver terjadi sebagai respon terhadap cuitan ulasan film “How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies” yang diunggah akun @annisast di media sosial X. Diskursus ini muncul dari stigma sosial yang umumnya kurang menghargai peranan caregiver, serta menganggapnya tidak setara dengan pekerjaan di ranah publik (paid work). Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana netizen X memaknai peranan caregiver melalui diskusi di media sosial X pada akun @annisast. Teori resepsi digunakan untuk melihat proses interpretasi masyarakat terhadap pesan media dan teori kultivasi untuk menjelaskan bagaimana narasi berulang membentuk persepsi sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi untuk menganalisis cuitan-cuitan yang terkait dengan pemaknaan peranan caregiver oleh netizen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran caregiver dimaknai netizen X sebagai sebuah profesi, dilema kelas menengah ke bawah, dan juga diskursus sistem sosial patriarki dan gender discrimination. / Social media, particularly the platform X (Twitter), serves as a public sphere where users engage in discussions and debates. Debates and discussions regarding the role of caregivers emerged in response to a tweet reviewing the film “How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies” posted by the account @annisast on X. This discourse stems from a prevailing social stigma that often undervalues the role of caregivers, viewing it as unequal to paid work in the public domain. This study aims to explore how X users interpret the role of caregivers through discussions on the platform, particularly on the account @annisast. Reception theory is employed to examine the public's process of interpreting media messages, while cultivation theory is used to explain how repeated narratives shape social perceptions. The research adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing content analysis to examine tweets related to the interpretation of caregivers' roles by users on X. The findings reveal that X users interpret the caregiver role as a profession, a dilemma faced by the lower-middle class, and a discourse tied to the social systems of patriarchy and gender discrimination.
