Abstract

Indonesia adalah negara dengan multikulturalisme, oleh karena hal tersebut memberikan berbagai dampak pada kehidupan sosial, salah satunya dampak negatif. Hal ini menyebabkan tingginya sikap intoleransi pada kalangan muda terkhususnya mahasiswa. Penelitian memiliki tujuan untuk meneliti kontribusi dari Intellectual Humility terhadap toleransi beragama pada mahasiswa S1 di wilayah Jabodetabek. Intellectual humility diukur dengan menggunakan Comprehensive Intellectual Humility Scale (CIHS), sedangkan toleransi beragama yang diukur dengan Religious Tolerance Measurement. Survei dilakukan secara daring dengan metode kuantitatif (terdapat 143 partisipan yang terdiri dari 58 orang berjenis kelamin laki-laki dan 85 orang berjenis kelamin Perempuan, dengan rentang usia 18-25 tahun serta menganut salah satu agama di Indonesia) yang berpartisipasi. Hasil analisa menemukan bahwa Intellectual Humility berkontribusi secara positif dan signifikan terhadap toleransi beragama dengan proporsi varian sekitar 50.7% (r = 0.71, p < .001). Dari penemuan ini menemukan bahwa pentingnya sikap intellectual humility dalam bidang pendidikan tinggi dalam menghargai perbedaan agama di Masyarakat/Indonesia is a country with multiculturalism, therefore it has various impacts on social life, one of which is negative. This causes a high attitude of intolerance among young people, especially students. This study focus to examine the contribution of Intellectual Humility to religious tolerance among undergraduate students in the Jabodetabek area. Intellectual humility is measured using the Comprehensive Intellectual Humility Scale (CIHS), while religious tolerance is measured by the Religious Tolerance Measurement. The survey was conducted online with quantitative methods (there were 143 participants consisting of 58 people of male gender and 85 people of female gender, with an age range of 18-25 years and adhering to one of the religions in Indonesia) who participated. The analysis found that Intellectual Humility contributed positively and significantly to religious tolerance with a variance proportion of about 50.7% (r = 0.71, p < .001). From this finding, it was found that the importance of intellectual humility in the field of higher education in respecting religious differences in society.
