Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan fenomena Impostor pada mahasiswa di Universitas X, Banten. Masalah yang diangkat adalah keraguan diri siswa terhadap kompetensi mereka, atribusi kesuksesan pada faktor eksternal, dan kecenderungan meremehkan pencapaian pribadi. Sasaran penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat gejala fenomena Impostor dan faktor demografis yang mempengaruhinya.Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain survei. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner Clance Impostor Phenomenon Scale (CIPS) yang telah diadaptasi. Partisipan terdiri dari 200 siswa aktif berusia 18-25 tahun, dan analisis data dilakukan menggunakan SPSS dan JASP untuk uji validitas, reliabilitas, analisis deskriptif, Uji beda , Uji kontribusi per aspek, dan Uji kategorisasi berdasarkan data demografis.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa mengalami gejala fenomena Impostor, dengan kontribusi terbesar dari aspek “fake” sebesar 95,84%, diikuti oleh “luck” 92,93% dan “discount” 95,84%. Selain itu, pelajar perempuan, berusia 18-21 tahun, serta yang berada di tahun pertama dan kedua perkuliahan menunjukkan kecenderungan lebih tinggi terhadap fenomena ini. Kesimpulan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fenomena Impostor cukup umum di kalangan pelajar, terutama pada aspek “fake”. saran untuk penelitian selanjtnya yang dapat dipertimbangkan adalah pengembangan program dukungan psikologis untuk membantu siswa dalam mengelola keraguan diri dan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, serta perhatian dari institusi pendidikan terhadap fenomena ini untuk menciptakan lingkungan akademik yang lebih mendukung. / This study aims to describe the Impostor phenomenon among students at University X, Banten. The issues addressed include students' self-doubt regarding their competencies, attribution of success to external factors, and a tendency to underestimate personal achievements. The objective of this research is to identify the level of Impostor phenomenon symptoms and the demographic factors influencing it. The research method employs a quantitative approach with a survey design. Data were collected using the adapted Clance Impostor Phenomenon Scale (CIPS) questionnaire. Participants consisted of 200 active students aged 18-25, and data analysis was conducted using SPSS and JASP for validity tests, reliability, descriptive analysis, difference tests, contribution tests per aspect, and categorization tests based on demographic data. The results indicate that a majority of students experience symptoms of the Impostor phenomenon, with the largest contribution from the "fake" aspect at 95.84%, followed by "luck" at 92.93% and "discount" at 95.84%. Additionally, female students, those aged 18-21, and those in their first and second years of study show a higher tendency towards this phenomenon. The conclusion of the study suggests that the Impostor phenomenon is quite common among students, particularly in the "fake" aspect. Recommendations for future research include the development of psychological support programs to help students manage self-doubt and enhance self-confidence, as well as increased attention from educational institutions towards this phenomenon to create a more supportive academic environment.
