Abstract

Cyberbullying refers to any form of violence or harassment, such as mocking, insulting, intimidating, or humiliating another person, carried out through internet media or digital technology. One of the vulnerable groups susceptible to cyberbullying is content creators (Hapsari et al., 2023). A content creator is an individual who produces content in the form of text, images, audio, or video, which is then shared across various platforms, such as websites, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and others (Hesanty, 2023b). This study aims to describe the self-concept of content creators who have experienced cyberbullying. Self-concept is an individual's perception of themselves, including evaluations of their abilities, self-worth, and personal identity. It encompasses Self-Knowledge, Self-Evaluation, and Self-Expectancy, as proposed by Calhoun and Acocella (1990). This study uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews conducted with three subjects who have experienced cyberbullying. Data analysis was carried out using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The results of this study indicate that two out of the three subjects demonstrated a positive self-concept in terms of Self-Knowledge, Self-Evaluation, and Self-Expectancy. One subject displayed good Self-Evaluation and Self-Expectancy but showed a lower level of Self-Knowledge, struggling to identify the roots of their emotions, which hindered their ability to conduct effective self-evaluation.
