Abstract
Setiap perguruan tinggi memainkan peran yang penting dalam memajukan sumber daya manusia, dengan menghasilkan lulusan-lulusan yang memiliki kesiapan kerja. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kesiapan kerja mahasiswa adalah dengan mengikuti kegiatan organisasi kemahasiswaan. Namun, masih banyak terdapat mahasiswa di Universitas X yang belum tertarik untuk mengikuti organisasi kemahasiswaan. Terdapat beberapa faktor yang menyebabkan kurangnya ketertarikan mahasiswa dalam mengikuti organisasi, salah satunya adalah keinginan untuk fokus meraih prestasi akademik yang memuaskan. Mahasiswa yang memiliki prestasi akademik yang baik diperkirakan dapat memiliki kesiapan kerja yang baik. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan kesiapan kerja antara mahasiswa yang aktif berorganisasi dan yang tidak aktif berorganisasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian uji beda dan teknik purposive sampling. Total partisipan adalah sebanyak 92 partisipan, dengan jumlah 46 partisipan di setiap kelompok mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian memaparkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kesiapan kerja antara mahasiswa yang aktif dalam berorganisasi dan yang tidak aktif dalam berorganisasi (W=1455.500, p=.002). Oleh karena itu, sangat dianjurkan kepada mahasiswa agar dapat aktif dalam mengikuti organisasi kemahasiswaan selama di tingkat universitas, guna mempersiapkan diri di dunia kerja. / Every universities has an important role in improving the quality of human resources, they need to produce graduates that are prepared for work or work readiness. One way of increasing student’s work readiness is by joining student organizations. However, there are many students in University X that are not interested in joining student organizations. There are several factors that affects students' lack of interest in joining organizations, one of which is to focus on achieving good academic achievements. Students’ that have good academic achievement are predicted to have good work readiness. Therefore, this research aims to see the differences in work readiness between students who are active in organizations and those who are not active in organizations. This research uses quantitative research methods with a differential research design and purposive sampling technique. There were a total of 92 participants, with 46 participants in each student group. The research result shows that there is a difference in work readiness between students who are active in organizations and those who are not active in organizations (W = 1455.500, p = .002). Therefore, it is highly recommended for students’ to be active in participating in student organizations while at university level, in order to prepare themselves for the work readiness.
