Arbitration could be interpreted as a well established and widely used means to end disputes. It is one of several kinds of alternative dispute resolution, which provide parties to a controversy with a choice other than litigation. Moreover, it has advantage that nature of “final and binding”. The issues have been raised from how an arbitration award is final and binding without any remedy, submission of cancellation, and to what extent the authority of the central Jakarta district court to cancel an international arbitral award. In the results of research, reveals that the district court only has the authority to cancel an arbitration award, if there are finding of letters or documents during examination, after adjudication, are proven to be false; discovery of decisive documents after the decision, which has been hidden by the other party; or the decision are taken from the deception carried out by one of the parties in the dispute. Then, the statement “against public order” can give different interpretation in cancellation of petition of international arbitral awards in Indonesia. This thesis based on primary and secondary legal materials. Firstly, primary legal materials consist of Act no.30 year 1999 on arbitration and alternative dispute resolution and New York Convention 1958. The secondary legal material is using the decision number 444 PK/Pdt/2007
