Interning at a law office is an invaluable experience for law students, providing deeper insights into the real-world application of legal practices. One recognized legal profession in Indonesia’s legal system is a Notary profession. Through the internship opportunity at the office of Notary Wenda Taurusita Amidjaja, SH., the writer hopes to gain practical experience in the field of law and to apply academic legal knowledge to real-life situations. The legal framework governing the Notary profession in Indonesia is primarily outlined in Law Number 30 of 2004, along with Law Number 2 of 2014. One of the powers vested in the Notary profession is the authority to create authentic deeds, as stipulated in the prevailing legislation. Through this internship, the writer had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in drafting various types of authentic deeds, including, among others, the Certificate of Inheritance ("SKW") and the Preliminary Sale and Purchase Agreement for Apartment Units (PPJB Sarusun) between developers and prospective buyers. Upon completing the internship, the writer successfully gained practical experience related to the Notary profession, particularly in drafting SKW and PPJB Sarusun. The writer observed that every task assigned at the Office of Notary Wenda Taurusita Amidjaja, SH was executed meticulously and in compliance with applicable legal provisions. The writer personally feels that certain legal aspects regarding the SKW and PPJB Sarusun could be further developed. These include the differentiation of the Certificate of Inheritance based on the heir’s lineage, the possibility of creating a self-made Certificate of Inheritance, the BPHTB (Land and Building Title Transfer Duty) that is owed when a PPJB is signed, and the specific definition of PPJB that is stated in Government Regulation Number 12 of 2021.
