Abstract
This research aims to explore social innovation carried out by women entrepreneurs in digital business management in the UMKM sector in Tangerang City, as well as looking at the relationship between gender, entrepreneurship, social innovation, and the use of information systems. This research uses a qualitative method involving seven female respondents who own UMKM in Tangerang City. Data is collected through in-depth interviews and observations to obtain a comprehensive picture of the challenges and social innovation strategies implemented in their business operations.
Research results show that women who set up a business independently often face challenges that include operational aspects, business management, as well as social perceptions and expectations that consider business leadership more suitable for men. This requires female UMKM leaders to prove their abilities, especially in fields that require physical strength, quick decision-making, and firm leadership. However, in the midst of these challenges, women entrepreneurs in Tangerang City have successfully overcome social barriers through the implementation of effective social innovation and information systems, so that they are able to run their businesses well and increase competitiveness.
