Abstract

Motivasi adalah aspek yang sangat penting dibutuhkan siswa dalam kegiatan belajar. Tanpa adanya motivasi, tidak mungkin siswa memiliki kemauan untuk belajar. Namun, berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan peneliti, diperoleh hasil bahwa tingkat motivasi siswa dalam belajar Bahasa Indonesia masih rendah. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, peneliti menggunakan media pembelajaran visual untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, serta untuk mengetahui penggunaan media pembelajaran visual dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan Taggart yang dilakukan selama tiga siklus. Penelitian dilakukan kepada siswa kelas 3 SD Sekolah Lentera Harapan Medan pada tanggal 15 September 2014 hingga 27 Oktober 2014. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar observasi, lembar angket siswa, pedoman wawancara guru pamong, lembar refleksi siswa, dan jurnal refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran visual yang sesuai dengan indikator, memiliki pengaruh terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran visual dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. / Motivation is a very required aspect in learning activities. Without motivation, the students may not have a willingness to learn. However, based on observations made by the researcher, the results showed that the level of students motivation in learning Indonesian was still low. Due to overcome this problem, researcher will be using visual learning media to enhance student’s learning motivation, and to investigate the usage of visual learning media in improving students' motivation. The research method that will be applied is Classroom Action Research (CAR) modelled by Kemmis and Taggart performed in three cycles. This research is conducted for students in grade 3 at Sekolah Lentera Harapan Medan on September 15, 2014 to October 27, 2014. Researcher uses the following instruments: observation sheet, student questionnaire sheet, interview officials teacher, student reflection sheet, and a reflective journal. The results will be showing that the usage of visual learning media in accordance with the indicator influence the improvement of students' motivation. Thus, it can be concluded that visual learning media is able to increase students' motivation.
