Abstract
Bilateral trade connections between Indonesia and Germany have existed for decades, exhibiting complex and demanding dynamics. This study will look at the ups and downs of trade relations between the two countries, as well as their impact on economic growth, opportunities and difficulties, and initiatives to reduce impediments to bilateral trade. This article takes a Neoliberal perspective, underpinned by principles such as international collaboration, bilateral commerce, and economic integration. This study takes a qualitative approach, employing descriptive and comparative methodologies to thoroughly characterize the phenomena under consideration. The descriptive technique is used to examine the evolution of commerce between the two countries, including the value of exports and imports, the types of commodities and services traded, and the most important economic sectors. Meanwhile, the comparative method is applied to identify similarities and differences in efforts made by the two countries in overcoming challenges and utilizing existing opportunities. The results of the study show that Indonesia-Germany trade relations are influenced by global dynamics, trade policies, and internal factors of each country. The main challenges include tariff barriers, trade regulations, and differences in technical standards. However, opportunities remain through increased cooperation in the technology, renewable energy, and manufacturing sectors. Efforts such as adjusting trade policies, promoting bilateral investment, and strategic economic dialogue are important steps to strengthen trade relations. This research provides important insights for policy makers in developing more effective strategies to optimize bilateral trade relations between Indonesia and Germany.
