Abstract
This study aims to explore the factors that influences the adoption rates of e-commerce and AI amongst SMEs and will also further assess how these technological advancements improve their marketing performance. The data for this research is gathered from 490 respondents that includes the employees and business partners of sayurbox which is an Indonesian SME that successfully leveraged these technologies to further grow their businesses into a big company now. The questionnaires will be spread via an electronic questionnaire maker called Google Forms and the data collected from this will be calculated and analyzed in the software called Smart-PLS 4.0 which includes P-Values, R-Square, and other critical values necessary for the research. Based on a theoretical model constructed in this research, the results show that customer savviness with technology, innovative company culture, competitive pressure, and business partner pressure each positively affect the rate at which SMEs adopt e-commerce, which will in return further enhances marketing performance. However, on the other hand, AI integration did not have a significant effect on e-commerce adoption, likely due to respondents’ limited exposure to AI tools and technologies. This study offers valuable insights into the factors that influence digital adoption among SMEs, highlighting the need for better technological literacy to fully leverage AI in the business landscape. Future research should consider including a 6 wider range of SME industries and incorporating longitudinal data to capture changing trends in technology adoption.
