The transfer of copyright is a very important element of the copyright legal system, considering that copyright is a form of intellectual property right that is personal in nature and gives the creator the exclusive right to control and utilize his work for a long period of time, even after the creator dies. Based on Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright, it regulates that copyright can be transferred through inheritance, which allows heirs to obtain rights to works that are still protected by copyright after the testator dies. This research aims to analyze in more depth the applicable legal procedures and implications arising from the transfer of copyright through inheritance. This research will also examine the relationship between applicable inheritance law provisions and copyright regulations, as well as how the management and use of copyrighted works that are still protected by copyright can be carried out by heirs after the creator dies as well as the importance of legal awareness among the public regarding the procedures that must be carried out. followed by the transfer of copyright, so that copyright can be protected and the economic results of the copyrighted work can be utilized by the creator or heirs. Copyright registration can ensure that the rights of the creator or heir are protected and legally recognized, so that the use of the work can be carried out more efficiently in accordance with applicable legal provisions.
