Music is one of copyright works that’s protected by Copyright Law. Indonesia had already had its own copyright law since 1982. It had a lot of amendment since 1982 until its latest amendment, that is Law 28/2014. Basically, Copyright Law consists of Economic Rights and Moral Rights. However in many cases, the enforcement of Copyright Law in the scope of Moral Rights is still retarded. As a matter of fact, there’s a lot of Moral Rights Infringement that’s never got enforced up till now. The infringements started at Warkop DKI cases at 1980s. It had a lot of Moral Rights Infringements by altering song lyrics of others’ work without permission, such as the altered song lyrics of “Sukiyaki” and “Feelings” songs. The infringement happened when Auteurswet 1912 and Law 7/1987 were in force. Unfortunately those copyright laws didn’t have any regulations of Moral Rights Infringement. Therefore there was none of law enforcement during the time of Warkop DKI infringement. However the latest copyright law, that is Law 28/2014, still has no regulations of legal sanctions for Moral Rights infringement. The absence of those regulations caused the number of the infringements kept increasing. Based on the case, it is needed to have any revisions of the latest copyright law.
