Penelitian mengkaji tentang implikasi kontestasi politik di Kawasan Asia Tengah terhadap hubungan bilateral Rusia dan Cina. Dengan adanya rivalitas antara Rusia dan Cina di Asia Tengah, penulis menganalisis signifikansi dan pertarungan kekuatan di kawasan tersebut dalam koridor geoekonomi dan geopolitik. Penulisan penelitian bertujuan mengkaji signifikansi Asia Tengah bagi Rusia dan Cina, serta implikasi kontestasi kekuatan di kawasan tersebut terhadap hubungan bilateral antara Cina dan Rusia. Penulis menggunakan jenis pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskriptif untuk menganalisis penelitian. Penulis mengeksplorasi macam - macam strategi ekonomi dan politik yang diterapkan oleh Rusia dan Cina, serta aksi konkret dari strategi tersebut, berupa kebijakan keamanan dan luar negeri dari kedua negara dalam rangka mempertahankan pengaruh mereka di Asia Tengah. Selanjutnya, penulis menggunakan teori neorealisme untuk mengkaji penelitian, dengan berfokus pada respon Rusia dan Cina untuk mempertahankan posisinya dalam sistem anarki. Neorealisme melihat bagaimana perilaku negara dipengaruhi oleh sistem internasional yang anarki. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian dan teori yang telah ditentukan, penulis memperoleh hasil bahwa signifikansi Asia Tengah secara geoekonomi berpusat pada kepemilikan sumber daya alam dan energi Asia Tengah. Selain itu, signifikansi Asia Tengah secara geopolitik dititikberatkan pada peran Asia Tengah sebagai poros stabilitas keamanan dan politik regional. Walaupun demikian, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa kontestasi politik di Asia Tengah tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap bilateral Rusia dan Cina karena kepentingan kedua negara di Asia Tengah tidak bersifat kontradiktif. / The research examines the implications of political contestation in the Central Asian region for bilateral relations between Russia and China. With the rivalry between Russia and China in Central Asia, the author analyzes the significance and power struggles in the region in geoeconomic and geopolitical corridors. The author of the research aims to examine the significance of Central Asia for Russia and China, as well as strengthening the power contestation in the region on bilateral relations between China and Russia. The author uses a qualitative approach and descriptive method to analyze the research. The author explores the various economic and political strategies implemented by Russia and China, as well as the concrete actions of these strategies, in the form of security and foreign policies of the two countries in order to maintain their influence in Central Asia. Next, the author uses neorealism theory to examine research, focusing on the response of Russia and China to maintain their position in the anarchy system. Neorealism sees how state behavior is influenced by the anarchic international system. By using predetermined research methods and theories, the author obtained the results that the geoeconomic significance of Central Asia is centered on Central Asia's ownership of natural resources and energy. In addition, the geopolitical significance of Central Asia is focused on Central Asia's role as the axis of regional security and political stability. Nevertheless, the author concludes that political contestation in Central Asia does not have a significant impact on bilateral relations between Russia and China because the interests of the two countries in Central Asia are not contradictory.
