Latar Belakang: Indonesia terus menghadapi peningkatan kejadian obesitas yang menimbulkan dampak kesehatan yang cukup besar. Pemahaman dan sikap positif terhadap obesitas masih belum menjadi motivasi untuk hidup dengan pola makan sehat dan rutin beraktivitas fisik. Tujuan Penelitian: Mengetahui hubungan pemahaman mengenai obesitas dengan prevalensi obesitas mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Hipotesis: Terdapat hubungan pemahaman mengenai obesitas dengan prevalensi obesitas pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Metode: Peneliti menggunakan metode studi potong lintang terhadap 255 sampel penelitian yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Peneliti menggunakan kuesioner Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP). Sampel diambil menggunakan random sampling dari September hingga Oktober 2024. Data yang dikumpulkan di uji statistik dengan Chi-Square, diolah menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS. Hasil: Pada penelitian ini terdapat 248 responden, di mana 233 responden memiliki tingkat pemahaman tinggi mengenai obesitas, dan 15 dengan pemahaman kurang. Dari 233 responden, 191 tidak obesitas dan 42 mengalami obesitas, sedangkan dari 15 responden, 10 tidak obesitas dan 5 mengalami obesitas. Hasil uji Chi-Square mendapatkan P-Value sebesar 0,170 (<0,005), menunjukkan tidak adanya hubungan signifikan antara tingkat pemahaman mengenai obesitas dan prevalensi obesitas pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Kesimpulan: Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan tidak adanya hubungan signifikan antara pemahaman mengenai obesitas dan prevalensi obesitas di kalangan mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan, dengan P-Value sebesar 0,170 (>0,05) Referensi: 51 (1999-2023). Understanding obesity and the positive attitudes towards it have not yet become a healthy diet and routine physical activity. Objective: To determine the relationship between the understanding of obesity and the prevalence of obesity in students of the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. Hypothesis: There is a relationship between the understanding of obesity and the prevalence of obesity in students of the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. Method: The researcher used a cross-sectional study on 255 research samples that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP) questionnaire was used. Samples were taken using random sampling from September to October 2024. The data collected was statistically tested with Chi-Square, then processed with the software SPSS. Result: In this study, there were 248 respondents, of which 233 respondents had a high level of understanding of obesity and 15 had poor understanding. Of 233 respondents, 191 were not obese and 42 were obese, while of the 15 respondents, 10 were not obese and 5 were obese The Chi-Square test obtained a P-Value of 0,170 (<0,005), indicating that there was no significant relationship between the understanding of obesity and the prevalence of obesity in students of the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. Conclusion: The result of this study indicates that there is no significant relationship between the understanding of obesity and the prevalence of obesity in students of the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University, with a P-Value of 0,170 (<0,005).
