Abstract
Reject dalam proses produksi di PT. X menjadi masalah utama yang dapat meningkatkan biaya, menghambat pengiriman, dan menurunkan kepuasan pelanggan jika tidak segera ditangani. Untuk mengatasi masalah reject pada produk rubber clutch damper, perusahaan menerapkan metode DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Metode DMAIC dimulai dengan menentukan Critical to Quality (CTQ) untuk mengidentifikasi peluang perbaikan dari masalah yang sering terjadi. Selanjutnya, dilakukan pengumpulan data untuk menghitung nilai DPMO (Defects Per Million Opportunities), sigma, dan membuat diagram Pareto guna menentukan item yang memerlukan prioritas perbaikan. Analisis lebih lanjut dilakukan pada area proses menggunakan FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) untuk menentukan nilai Severity, Occurrence, dan Detection. Berdasarkan hasil perkalian nilai-nilai tersebut, diperoleh nilai RPN (Risk Priority Number), yang menjadi acuan dalam menentukan prioritas perbaikan berdasarkan nilai RPN tertinggi. Setelah proses perbaikan dilakukan, tahap berikutnya adalah implementasi proses Control, termasuk pembuatan One Point Lessons dan Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP), agar perbaikan dapat dijalankan secara berkelanjutan. Hasil penerapan metode DMAIC menunjukkan peningkatan nilai sigma dari 4,11 menjadi 4,58, yang mencerminkan peningkatan kapabilitas proses dalam menghasilkan output yang mendekati kesempurnaan. Peningkatan nilai sigma ini berkorelasi langsung dengan penurunan rejection rate terhadap total produksi, dari 1,51% menjadi 0,31%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa proses menjadi lebih efisien dan menghasilkan lebih sedikit cacat, sejalan dengan tujuan utama peningkatan kualitas. Hasil perhitungan paired t-test menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara tingkat rejection rate sebelum dan setelah perubahan. Rata-rata rejection rate setelah perubahan lebih rendah secara signifikan, dengan nilai t-statistik sebesar 61,63 dan nilai p < 0,0001, yang mendukung penolakan terhadap hipotesis nol yang menyatakan tidak ada perbedaan rata-rata antara tingkat rejection rate sebelum dan setelah perubahan. Perubahan yang dilakukan berhasil menurunkan rejection rate secara signifikan, dengan total reject di bawah target manajemen 0,40%./Reject is one of the main issues frequently occurring in the production process at PT. X. If not addressed promptly, it can lead to increased production costs, delays in delivery to the next process, and decreased customer satisfaction. To tackle the reject issue in rubber clutch damper products, the company implemented the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology. The DMAIC process began by determining Critical to Quality (CTQ) factors to identify improvement opportunities for recurring problems. Next, data was collected to calculate the DPMO, sigma values, and create a Pareto chart to identify items requiring prioritized improvements. Further analysis was conducted using FMEA to assess Severity, Occurrence, and Detection values. Based on the multiplication of these values, the Risk Priority Number (RPN) was determined, which served as a basis for prioritizing improvements according to the highest RPN values. After the improvements were implemented, the next phase involved the Control process, including the creation of One Point Lessons and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure sustainable improvement. The results of applying the DMAIC methodology showed an increase in sigma value from 4.11 to 4.58 and a decrease in the rejection rate of total production from 1.51% to 0.31%. Paired t-test calculations showed a significant difference between the rejection rates before and after the changes. The average rejection rate after the changes was significantly lower, with a t-statistic of 61.63 and a p-value <0.0001, supporting the rejection of the null hypothesis. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implemented changes successfully reduced the rejection rate significantly, and the research results achieved a total reject rate below the management target of 0.40%.
