Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of conventional, group and role-play learning models on concept understanding and student learning motivation in Civics Education (Civics) subjects for grade I students of Sacred Heart Elementary School, Central Jakarta. This research used quantitative method of one-group experiment. The research subjects were 9 first grade elementary school students. Data collection was done through observation, written test, and performance assessment which were processed statistically. The first learning activity used conventional method with written test, the second learning activity applied collaborative learning through group work and presentation, and the third and fourth learning activities applied contextual learning through role play (drama) method. Statistical results showed a significant increase in conceptual understanding and student learning motivation when comparing the first learning activity with the second, third and fourth learning activities. The application of group learning and role-playing models is proven to be effective in improving students' conceptual understanding and learning motivation in Civics subjects as indicated by the increasing ability of students to relate the subject matter to the context of daily life through various meaningful learning activities. / Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran konvensional, berkelompok dan bermain peran terhadap pemahaman konsep dan motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan (PKn) untuk siswa kelas I SD Hati Suci, Jakarta Pusat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif eksperimen satu kelompok. Subjek penelitian adalah 9 siswa kelas satu sekolah dasar. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, tes tertulis, dan penilaian unjuk kerja yang diolah secara statistik. Kegiatan pembelajaran pertama menggunakan metode konvensional dengan tes tertulis, kegiatan pembelajaran kedua menerapkan pembelajaran kolaboratif melalui kerja kelompok dan presentasi, dan kegiatan pembelajaran ketiga dan keempat menerapkan pembelajaran kontekstual melalui metode bermain peran (drama). Hasil statistik menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada pemahaman konseptual dan motivasi belajar siswa ketika membandingkan kegiatan pembelajaran pertama dengan kegiatan pembelajaran kedua, ketiga dan keempat. Penerapan model pembelajaran berkelompok dan bermain peran terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran PKn yang ditandai dengan meningkatnya kemampuan siswa dalam mengaitkan materi pelajaran dengan konteks kehidupan sehari-hari melalui berbagai kegiatan pembelajaran yang bermakna.
