Abstract
Curriculum changes are not uncommon; in fact, they are anticipated periodically to enhance the quality of education and human resources in the country, ultimately
contributing positively to national prosperity and greatness. In 2022, the Indonesian Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology issued decree No. 56/M/2022,
which governs the implementation of the new Merdeka Curriculum. The efficacy of a curriculum is contingent upon the readiness of the adopting school. This study examines
the readiness of XYZ SPK School in Bekasi City for implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. The objectives are to assess the understanding of teachers and staff regarding the Merdeka Curriculum, explore their comprehension of the ideal learning and assessment
processes, and describe the implementation of Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) in the school. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that teachers and staff possess a strong theoretical understanding of the Merdeka Curriculum, including its distinctions from Kurikulum 2013. They also demonstrate a good grasp of the ideal practices for learning and evaluation. However, inconsistencies in the practical implementation of these principles were observed. Additionally, the study highlights that the implementation of P5 at the school does not align with the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Education. These findings suggest a need for further capacity-building efforts
and consistent monitoring to ensure successful adoption of the Merdeka Curriculum. / Perubahan kurikulum bukanlah hal yang tidak lazim terjadi; bahkan, perubahan diantisipasi secara berkala untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan dan sumber daya manusia di suatu negara, yang pada akhirnya berkontribusi positif terhadap kesejahteraan
dan kemajuan bangsa. Pada tahun 2022, Menteri Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi Republik Indonesia menerbitkan Keputusan No. 56/M/2022 yang mengatur implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka. Keberhasilan suatu kurikulum sangat bergantung pada kesiapan sekolah yang mengadopsinya. Penelitian ini mengkaji kesiapan Sekolah XYZ SPK di Kota Bekasi dalam mengimplementasikan Kurikulum Merdeka. Tujuannya adalah untuk menilai pemahaman guru dan staf terhadap Kurikulum Merdeka, mengeksplorasi pemahaman mereka tentang proses pembelajaran dan penilaian yang ideal, serta mendeskripsikan implementasi Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) di sekolah tersebut. Dengan pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa guru dan staf memiliki pemahaman teoritis yang kuat tentang Kurikulum Merdeka, termasuk perbedaannya dengan Kurikulum 2013. Mereka juga memiliki pemahaman yang baik tentang praktik pembelajaran dan evaluasi yang ideal. Namun, ditemukan inkonsistensi dalam implementasi praktis prinsip-prinsip tersebut. Selain itu, penelitian ini menyoroti bahwa pelaksanaan P5 di sekolah belum sepenuhnya sesuai dengan pedoman yang diberikan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan. Temuan ini menunjukkan perlunya upaya peningkatan kapasitas lebih lanjut dan pemantauan yang konsisten untuk memastikan keberhasilan adopsi Kurikulum Merdeka.
