Abstract
Education is one of the many aspects in life that are affected by the vast development of knowledge and technology information. Teaching and learning process is expected to be easier as there are more learning applications emerging. Learning application that is used in this research is Padlet, since there are a whole lot students that are not familiar with it. This research aims to find out the determine whether the usage of Padlet has an impact on students’ learning motivation and to grade XI students’ writing ability. This research uses quantitative research methods with experimental methods. This research involves two research groups: experimental group and control group. The result of this research shows that the usage of Padlet in learning German in Stella Duce 1 Senior High School of Yogyakarta has not significantly improved students’ learning motivation and writing ability. Even though the result is not statistically significant, the effectiveness can be increased through interactive strategies and relevant learning materials; and more directed teaching methods./ Dewasa ini perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan serta informasi teknologi semakin memperngaruhi semua aspek kehidupan, terutama pendidikan. Dengan banyaknya aplikasi pembelajaran yang bermunculan, diharapkan mempermudah proses belajar mengajar. Aplikasi pembelajaran yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah Padlet, karena banyak siswa belum familiar dengan aplikasi ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan aplikasi Padlet berpengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar siswa dan kemampuan menulis siswa kelas XI. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen. Dalam penelitian ini melibatkan dua kelompok penelitian, yakni kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan aplikasi Padlet dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Jerman di SMA Stella Duce 1 Yogyakarta belum signifikan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan kemampuan menulis siswa. Meski hasilnya belum signifikan secara statistik, efektivitasnya dapat ditingkatkan melalui strategi interaktif dan bahan ajar yang relevan, serta metode pengajaran yang lebih terarah.
