Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of transformational leadership (TL) to quality of care (QoC), with structural empowerment (SE) and work engagement (WE) as mediating variables. This study is using quantitative approach with cross-sectional. The study is done in a type B private hospital in South Jakarta with 175 respondents of general practitioners and nurses that had been working ≥1 year in their own respective units. Data is analyzed using PLS-SEM. Result shows TL not increase QoC, but increase with full mediation from SE. TL increases WE, WE increase QoC, but no mediation from WE for TF to increase QoC. This study shows new knowledge for managerial study that TL, SE, and WE directly and indirectly increase QoC. / Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efek dari transformational leadership (TL) terhadap quality of care (QoC), dengan structural empowerment (SE) dan work engagement (WE) sebagai variabel mediasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan cross-sectional. Survei dilakukan pada salah satu rumah sakit swasta tipe B di Jakarta Selatan dengan 175 responden yang terdiri dari dokter umum dan perawat yang telah bekerja ≥1 tahun di unit tempat bekerjanya. Data dianalisis menggunakan PLS-SEM. Hasil yang didapatkan TL tidak signifikan meningkatkan QoC, namun meningkat dengan mediasi SE. TL meningkatkan WE, WE meningkatkan QoC, namun tidak ada efek mediasi dari WE untuk TF meningkatkan QoC. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan baru bagi manajerial bahwa TL, SE dan WE secara langsung dan tidak langsung meningkatkan QoC.
