Abstract
This thesis studies Indonesia's strategic initiatives to foster the electric vehicle
(EV) industri after G20 presidency in 2022. It highlights the importance of
transitioning to green energy through the promotion of EVs, which are essential for
reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving sustainable economic growth. The
research focuses on the roles of Foreign Direct Investment, good governance practices,
and the essential need for skilled human resources in the success of Indonesia's EV
sector. Utilizing a case study methodology, the findings indicate that Indonesia,
endowed with abundant nickel resources vital for battery production, is positioned to
become a key player in the global EV market. The G20 presidency facilitated
international agreements on green energy while attracting essential foreign
investments for infrastructure development and technology transfer. The formation of
the Indonesia Battery Corporation exemplifies the application of good governance in
managing nickel resources effectively. Despite challenges like insufficient
infrastructure and the need for ongoing governmental support, this research concludes
that Indonesia’s commitment to the EV sector is crucial for job creation and enhancing
global competitiveness. Furthermore, collaboration with international experts is
necessary to improve local workforce competencies and ensure the sustainability of
Indonesia's EV transition, contributing to a robust electric vehicle ecosystem.
menekankan pentingnya transisi menuju energi hijau melalui promosi kendaraan listrik
Pembentukan Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC) menunjukkan penerapan good
daya saing global. Kolaborasi dengan ahli internasional juga krusial untuk
meningkatkan kompetensi tenaga kerja lokal dan memastikan keberlanjutan transisi
EV, sehingga mempromosikan ekosistem kendaraan listrik yang kuat.
