Abstract
This research aims to examine how content creators in Indonesia build and interpret their professional identities within the ever-evolving digital landscape. Content creators are not merely viewed as producers of entertainment or informational content but also as professionals engaged in meaning personal and professional identities. Throughout this process, they navigate various social, cultural, and personal dynamics that influence how they define their roles as content creators. Using a qualitative approach, this study explores the experiences of content creators across platforms like Instagram and TikTok through in-depth interviews and narrative analysis. The findings reveal that the professional identities of content creators are shaped not only by their interactions with audiences but also by their personal values, beliefs, and life goals. Support from family, friends, and communities emerges as a critical factor enabling their professional growth. Content creators perceive their profession as a means of self-expression, delivering meaningful messages, and creating positive social impact. This study contributes to academic literature on the construction of professional identity in the digital era while providing practical insights for content creators and stakeholders in the digital media industry. / Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana kreator konten di Indonesia memaknai identitas profesi mereka dalam lanskap digital yang terus berkembang. Kreator konten tidak hanya dilihat sebagai penghasil konten hiburan atau informasi, tetapi juga sebagai profesi yang melibatkan pemaknaan identitas personal dan profesional. Dalam proses ini, mereka menghadapi berbagai dinamika sosial, budaya, dan personal yang memengaruhi cara mereka memahami peran mereka sebagai kreator konten. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini menggali pengalaman kreator konten dari berbagai platform seperti Instagram dan TikTok melalui wawancara mendalam dan analisis naratif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa identitas profesi kreator konten tidak hanya dimaknai oleh interaksi mereka dengan audiens, tetapi juga oleh nilai-nilai personal, keyakinan, dan tujuan hidup yang mereka anut. Dukungan dari keluarga, teman, dan komunitas menjadi faktor penting yang memungkinkan mereka untuk terus berkembang secara profesional. Kreator konten memaknai profesi mereka sebagai sarana untuk mengekspresikan diri, menyampaikan pesan yang bermakna, dan menciptakan dampak sosial yang positif. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada literatur akademis tentang memaknai identitas profesional di era digital, sekaligus memberikan wawasan praktis bagi kreator konten dan pemangku kepentingan di industri media digital.
