Abstract

Based on pre-observation class, it was identified that students lacked social interaction. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to implement cooperative learning to increase students’ social interaction. This study took place in a Christian school in Lippo Cikarang, east Jakarta on July 21st – November 26th, 2009, of the academic year of 2009 – 2010. The design of this study is classroom action research consisting of three cycles with twenty students of grade seven. Instruments used for data gathering are pre-observation, observation, documentation, and reflection sheet. The result of the study indicated that the implementation of cooperative learning increased grade seven students’ social interaction in learning Physics. The result should be beneficial for Physics teachers and for further study. / Berdasarkan pra-pengamatan di dalam kelas, diidentifikasi bahwa siswa kurang berinteraksi sosial. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan interaksi sosial siswa kelas tujuh dalam pembelajaran Fisika. Penelitian ini diadakan di sebuah sekolah Kristen di Lippo Cikarang, Jakarta timur pada 21 Juli – 26 November 2009, tahun akademik 2009 – 2010. Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari tiga siklus dengan dua puluh orang siswa. Dalam pengumpulan data, instrument yang digunakan adalah pra-observasi, observasi, dokumentasi, dan lembaran refleksi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif meningkatkan interaksi sosial siswa kelas tujuh. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan berguna bagi para guru Fisika dan penelitian selanjutnya.
