Abstract

Guru baru menghadapi berbagai tantangan, seperti beradaptasi dengan lingkungan dan budaya sekolah. Oleh karena itu, kepala sekolah memainkan peran penting dalam mendukung perkembangan mereka, khususnya dalam meningkatkan kinerja mengajar untuk memaksimalkan pertumbuhan siswa. Penelitian ini menganalisis strategi kepemimpinan instruksional yang diterapkan oleh kepala sekolah di Sekolah Dasar Swasta XYZ-BSD serta dampaknya terhadap kinerja guru baru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dengan sembilan partisipan, yang terdiri atas kepala sekolah dan delapan guru baru, serta analisis dokumen berupa evaluasi kinerja yang dinilai oleh koordinator guru. Data dianalisis menggunakan teori tiga dimensi kepemimpinan instruksional dari Hallinger dan Murphy serta dimensi kinerja mengajar guru dari Joen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menerapkan strategi kepemimpinan instruksional, seperti pengembangan profesional, bimbingan berkelanjutan, dan pemberian umpan balik konstruktif, kepala sekolah berperan dalam mengembangkan kinerja mengajar guru baru dalam konteks perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan penilaian pembelajaran. / New teachers face challenges such as adapting to the school environment and culture. Thus, principals play a crucial role in supporting their development, particularly in developing teaching performance to maximize student growth. This study analyzed instructional leadership strategies implemented by the principal at XYZ-BSD Private Elementary School and their impacts on new teachers’ teaching performance. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews with nine participants, consisting of the principal and eight new teachers, and document analysis of performance evaluations assessed by the teacher coordinator. The data were analyzed using Hallinger and Murphy's three dimensions of instructional leadership and Joen's teaching performance dimensions. The research findings indicate that by implementing instructional leadership strategies—such as professional development, continuous mentoring, and providing constructive feedback—the principal plays an important role in enhancing the teaching performance of new teachers within the context of lesson planning, instructional delivery, and assessment.
