Abstract
Based on pre-observation class it was identified that learning achievement was low. Therefore this study aims at increasing grade X students’ chemistry learning achievement by applying Student Teams Achievement Division in chemistry lesson. This research took place in one Christian school at Makassar from 21st July to 16th December, 2009/2010 academic year. The design of the study is Classroom Action Research that consisting of three cycles with 22 students of grade X. Research instruments for gathering data are test, observation, feedback sheet, questionnaire, and documentation and reflection sheet. The result of the study indicated that Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) increased the chemistry learning achievement of grade X students. Hopefully this study might be beneficial for chemistry teachers and for further study.

Berdasarkan pra pengamatan kelas diidentifikasi hasil pembelajaran rendah. Penelitian bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas sepuluh dengan menerapkan Student Teams Achievement Divivsion (STAD) dalam pembelajaran kimia. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu sekolah Kristen di Makassar pada tanggal 21 Juli sampai dengan 16 Desember, tahun ajaran 2009/2010. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari tiga siklus dengan jumlah siswa kelas X sebanyak 22 orang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data adalah tes, observasi, lembar umpan balik, kuisioner, dokumentasi dan jurnal refleksi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas sepuluh dalam pelajaran kimia. Semoga penelitian ini dapat bermanfaat bagi guru-guru kimia dan untuk penelitian selanjutnya.
