Abstract
meningkatkan kinerja akademik (t pra-tes = -0,298, p = 0,767; t post-tes = -1,133, p = 0,262).

Prestasi Akademik Matematika, Indonesia. / Mathematics anxiety significantly affects student performance in Indonesia, a country ranked among the lowest in mathematical achievement according to PISA 2022. A small number of students achieved top performance levels in mathematics, highlighting the need for effective interventions. This study explores the use of Lo-fi music, inspired by the Mozart effect theory, as a potential intervention to reduce math anxiety and improve academic performance among Year 5 primary students. A quantitative approach was employed, showing results from independent samples t-tests showed no statistically significant effect of Lo-fi music on reducing math anxiety (pre-test t = 0.500, p = 0.619; post-test t = 0.530, p = 0.598) or improving academic performance (pre-test t = -0.298, p = 0.767; post-test t = -1.133, p = 0.262). Qualitative findings revealed that Lo-fi music was more effective in stressful situations when a calm environment was needed and promoted student independence during homework. Although Lo-fi music did not yield statistically significant results in reducing anxiety or improving performance, it provided meaningful benefits in stress management and autonomy, especially with parental support. These results suggest further exploration of non-traditional educational interventions.
