Intellectual Property Rights (referred to as "IPR") is a right arising from the results of human intellectual thought if that produces a work that is useful for humans. In the era of free trade, Indonesia as a developing country should be able to take appropriate steps to be able to anticipate all the changes and developments as well as the global trend. Therefore, the IPR as part of the legal system is closely related to industry, trade and investment, or that are generally known to the world of business. But in fact the public's understanding of "intellectual property" is still not evenly distributed, or in other words the public's understanding on this matter still needs to be cultivated, deepened and developed. there are often misconceptions people who want to "patented brand name" as examples of trademark disputes that occurred in Indonesia, namely the trademark "RODY" with "NEWRODYSPECIAL"
