Abstract

Based on pre-observation, it was identified that grade eight students misbehaved in the Bahasa Indonesia lesson. This affects the learning process and their writing ability. Therefore, this study aims at increasing grade eight students writing ability in Bahasa Indonesia by using classroom procedures and rules. This study took place in Karawaci, July 21 to November 28 2009/2010 academic year. The design of the study is action research, consisting of three cycles with 25 grade eight students. Research instruments used for data gathering are observation, documentation, and reflection sheet. The result of this study indicated that the use of classroom procedures and rules can decrease misbehavior, and consequently, students’ writing ability increased. / Berdasarkan pra-observasi, diidentifikasi bahwa siswa kelas delapan berkelakuan buruk dalam kelas Bahasa Indonesia. Hal ini mempengaruhi proses belajar dan kemampuan menulis siswa. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa kelas delapan dalam pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian bertempat di Karawaci, 21 Juli sampai 28 November, tahun akademik 2009/2010. Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri atas tiga siklus dengan 25 orang siswa kelas delapan. Instrumen penelitian untuk pengumpulan data adalah observasi, dokumentasi, dan lembar refleksi. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa penggunaan prosedur dan aturan kelas dapat mengurangi kelakuan buruk siswa, dan menghasilkan peningkatan kemampuan menulis siswa kelas delapan.
