Abstract

Based on pre-observation, it was identified that the students did not respond most of the time during teachers’ questioning. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine questioning techniques to increase students’ interaction. The study took place in a Christian secondary school in Lampung Selatan on July 6th - November 26th, 2009, of the academic year 2009-2010 with twenty nine students of grade eight. The design of this study is action research consisting of three cycles. Instruments for data gathering are pre-observation, observation, documentation, and reflection sheet. Results of the study came from implementing questions according to levels of cognition from easy to complex systematically and thus grade eight students’ interaction were increased in the learning of science for grade eight students. Hopefully the study will be beneficial for teachers and further study. / Berdasarkan pra-pengamatan, diidentifikasi bahwa siswa tidak merespon sewaktu guru memberikan pertanyaan. Jadi, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan teknik bertanya untuk meningkatkan interaksi siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di sebuah Sekolah Menegah Kristen di Lampung Selatan pada 6 Juli – 26 November 2009, tahun akademik 2009-2010 dengan dua puluh sembilan siswa kelas delapan. Desain penelitian adalah penelitian tindakan yang terdiri dari tiga siklus. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data adalah pra pengamatan, pengamatan, dokumentasi, dan lembar refleksi. Hasil dari penelitian ini didapat dengan penerapan pertanyaan berdasarkan tingkat pikiran dari yang mudah ke sulit secara sistematis mengakibatkan interaksi siswa kelas delapan meningkat dalam belajar sains. Hasil penelitian ini diharapakan berguna untuk para guru dan penelitian selanjutnya.
