Abstract

Based on the pre-observation, students’ biology achievement in grade X is low. The purpose of this study was to investigate the change in grade X students’ achievement in learning biology by using instructional media. The study took place in grade X in a private school, in November 2 - 18, 2009, 2009/2010 academic year. The design of the study is classroom action research (CAR) consisting of three cycles. Research instruments for gathering data are formative and summative tests, questionnaire, observation, documentation, reflective sheets. The result of the study indicated that by using instructional media, grade X students’ achievement increased. Hopefully, the result of the study is beneficial for biology teachers and for further research. / Berdasarkan pra-pengamatan, pencapaian hasil belajar siswa kelas X rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pencapaian hasil belajar siswa kelas X dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran. Penelitian diadakan di kelas X di sebuah sekolah swasta di Semarang. Penelitian berlansung tanggal 2 – 18 November, tahun ajaran 2009/2010. Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan tiga siklus. Instrumen penelitian adalah tes formatif dan summatif, kuesioner, observasi, dokumentasi, dan lembar refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan media pemebelajaran, pencapaian hasil belajar siswa kelas X meningkat. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan bermanfaat untuk guru biologi dan untuk penelitian lebih lanjut.
