Abstract
Pengelolaan kelas merupakan tindakan guru untuk membantu siswa dalam perubahan tingkah laku dan mempertahankan suasana belajar yang kondusif. Dalam hal ini, guru berperan besar sebagai manajer dalam kelas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini, yaitu (1) untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan essential agreement dapat memperbaiki mutu pengelolaan kelas (2) untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran guru pada penerapan essential agreement terhadap perilaku siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa umpan balik dari mentor dan siswa. Subyek dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 19 siswa kelas 8b pada salah satu sekolah di Jombang. Hasil penelitian yang pertama menunjukan bahwa penerapan essential agreement dapat memperbaiki mutu pengelolaan kelas berdasarkan tulisan dari umpan balik mentor. Sedangkan hasil penelitian yang kedua menunjukan adanya pengaruh peran guru pada penerapan essential agreement terhadap perilaku siswa. Saran-saran yang dapat diberikan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan essential agreement akan lebih efektif apabila dilakukan pada awal tahun pembelajaran guna menyempurnakan kekurangan yang ada pada penelitian ini.

Classroom management is the act of teachers to create, assist the formation of student behavior and maintaining a conducive learning atmosphere. In this case, the teacher plays a major role as managers in the classroom. The purposes of these research are (1) to determine whether the use of essential agreement can improve the quality of classroom management (2) to understand how essential the role of teachers in the implementation of agreements on student behavior. The method if this research is the Class Action Research Methods by using instruments such as feedback from mentors and students. The subjects in this study were 19 students of class 8b at one school in Jombang. The first research results indicate that the application of essential agreement can improve the quality of classroom management based on the writings of mentor feedback. Whereas the second study showed the influence of the teacher's role in the implementation of essential agreement on student behavior. The advice can be given from this research is essential implementation agreement will be more effective if done in the early years of learning in order to improve weaknesses in this study.
