Abstract

Cooperative learning is one of many methods that are being used by many teachers all over the world. But often teachers don’t know how to implement it. Cooperative learning is a set of instructional models in which students work in mixed ability groups to reach specific learning and social interaction objectives. Through a descriptive qualitative case study in a private high school in East Java, I conduct a Classroom Action Research (CAR) about cooperative learning implementation, so teachers can learn from this paper how to implement cooperative learning. This study finally shows that cooperative learning helps the students to learn by sharing their knowledge and cooperative work. Besides that students learn and gained social skills. Therefore, cooperative learning is one of the best methods that teachers should understand how to use. / Metode cooperative learning adalah salah satu metode mengajar yang digunakan guru-guru hampir diseluruh dunia, tetapi banyak guru-guru yang tidak tahu/mengerti dalam mengimplementasikan cooperative learning dalam suatu pembelajaran. Cooperative learning adalah susunan dari model instruksi dimana murid-murid dengan kemampuan yang beragam bekerja di dalam kelompok-kelompok untuk meraih pembelajaran tertentu dan tujuan dari interaksi sosial. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian dekriptif kualitatif di sebuah sekolah Kristen swasta di Jawa Timur, saya membuat Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) mengenai implementasi cooperative learning, sehingga guru-guru dapat belajar dari penelitian bagaimana cara mengimplementasikan cooperative learning. Studi ini akhirnya menunjukkan hasil bahwa cooperative learning membantu murid-murid untuk belajar dari berbagi pengalaman, ilmu, dan bekerja dalam kelompok. Selain itu murid-murid mendapatkan ilmu dalam bersosialisasi. Oleh karena itu, cooperative learning adalah salah satu metode terbaik yang harus dimengerti cara penggunaanya oleh guru-guru.
