Abstract
Dalam dunia pendidikan, strategi diartikan sebagai suatu perencanaan untuk mencapai tujuan pendidikan. Metode mengajar merupakan salah satu strategi untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut. Metode mengajar digunakan untuk mengimplementasikan rencana yang sudah disusun dalam kegiatan yang nyata agar tujuan tercapai dengan optimal. Dalam skripsi yang berjudul ”Penggunaan Metode Demonstrasi dalam Pelajaran Sosiologi untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Siswa di Kelas VII A” ini, akan membahas tentang bagaimana metode demonstrasi memengaruhi tingkat pemahaman siswa dalam pelajaran sosiologi. Metode ini digunakan agar siswa tidak hanya belajar melalui pendengaran atau penglihatan, tetapi juga pengalaman. Dengan mengalami serta melakukan sendiri, siswa akan lebih mudah untuk mengingat serta memahami materi yang disampaikan oleh guru. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan di salah satu SMP Kristen di Lampung Selatan, kelas VII A. Penelitian ini memiliki 3 siklus yang mengamati bagaimana metode demonstrasi membawa siswa lebih mudah untuk memahami materi pelajaran sosiologi. Akhir dari penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa metode demonstrasi berhasil diterapkan dan meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap pelajaran sosiologi di kelas VII A.

In educational world, teaching method defined as a plan to achieve the purpose of education. Teaching method is a strategy to achieve that purpose. Teaching method uses to implement the set of plans in a real activity in order to pursue optimal learning. In this skripsi entitled ”Penggunaan Metode Demonstrasi dalam Pelajaran Sosiologi untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Siswa di Kelas VII A”, will discuss how demonstration method affect the level of student’s understanding in Sociology. This method used in order the student can learn not only by hearing or sight but also experience. By experienced and did by them selves, student will able to remember and understand the content given by teacher. This classroom action research held at one of SMP Kristen in Lampung Selatan, class VII A. This research had 3 cycles which observed how demonstration method can make student easy to understand the content of Sociology.
