Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa pada kegiatan pembelajaran Sosiologi kelas XI IPS. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena kurangnya kreativitas guru dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, sehingga menyebabkan rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa. Hal ini terlihat dari kurangnya partisipasi aktif siswa. Guru yang mengajar mata pelajaran Sosiologi terkesan membosankan dan siswa lebih banyak dijejali teori/konsep dengan ceramah. Berdasarkan hal ini maka diterapkanlah metode permainan agar dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Subjek penelitian adalah 16 siswa kelas XI IPS, yang terdiri dari lima siswa laki-laki dan sebelas siswa perempuan. Pengumpulan data berupa angket yang diedarkan kepada subjek penelitian, lembar observasi yang diisi oleh teacher educator, umpan balik yang diisi oleh guru mentor, dan refleksi peneliti. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode permainan dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa tersebut menggunakan jenis permainan dalam proses belajar yang memang digunakan semata-mata sebagai “permainan murni’. Metode ini dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Tanggapan teacher educator, guru mentor, dan siswa tertarik terhadap metode pembelajaran ini. Kendala yang ditemui dalam menerapkan metode permainan ini berupa; peneliti tidak mempersiapkan alternatif lain, kurang jelasnya instruksi yang diberikan oleh peneliti, peneliti tidak mengecek ulang pemahaman siswa mengenai setiap instruksi yang telah diberikan. / This research is a class action that aims to increase student motivation in learning activities Sociology class XI IPS. This research is motivated because of lack of creativity of teachers in the learning activities, thus causing low student motivation. This is evident from the lack of active participation of students. Teachers who teach subjects Sociology impressed boring and more students crammed with theory/concept of the lecture. Based on this game then diterapkanlah methods in order to increase student motivation. Subjects were 16 students of class XI IPS, consisting of five male students and eleven female students. Collecting data in the form of a questionnaire circulated to the subject of research, observation sheets filled out by the teacher educator, feedback, filled by a teacher mentor, and researcher reflections. The result concluded that the application of game methods to improve these students' motivation to use these types of games in the learning process that is used solely as a “pure play”. This method can increase student motivation. Responses teacher educator, mentor teachers, and students interested in this learning method. Obstacles encountered in applying this game form; researcher did not prepare an alternative, less obvious instructions given by the researcher, investigators did not re-check students' understanding of each instruction has been given.
