Abstract
Pelajaran fisika seringkali dianggap pelajaran yang paling sulit bagi kebanyakan siswa. Bahkan sebelum mereka memulai pelajaran fisika, kebanyakan dari mereka sudah menolak. Dari masalah ini peneliti melakukan penelitian, bagaimana membuat siswa tertarik dan mudah memahami konsep fisika. Penelitian dilaksanakan di salah satu SMP di Tengerang pada kelas VIII dengan jumlah 67 siswa yang terbagi dalam 2 (dua) kelas. Konsep yang diajarkan dalam penelitian ini adalah hukum Archimedes. Peneliti menggunakan alat peraga sebagai penyampai informasi, menggunakan metode demonstrasi dan eksperimen dalam metode penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes tertulis, angket, umpan balik mentor, jurnal refleksi, dan foto pembelajaran. Untuk mengetahui ketertarikan siswa dapat dilihat dari angket dan foto pembelajaran, sedangkan untuk melihat pemahaman siswa dapat dilihat pada tes yang diberikan. Berdasarkan analisa data yang telah dilakukan, terdapat peningkatan pemahaman siswa terhadap pelajaran fisika. Hasil angket dan umpan balik observer memperlihatkan bahwa siswa dan observer memberi tanggapan yang positif terhadap penggunaan alat peraga.

The subject of physics is often seen as the most difficult subject for most students. Even before they start the lesson, most students reject it. From this problem, the researcher do his research about how to make students attracted and easily understand the concept of physics. The research was conducted in grade VIII class of SMP in Tangerang with 67 students who are divided into two classes. The concept taught in this research is The Archimedes Law. The resesarcher used teaching tool to transfer the information, used demonstration and experiment mehtod. The technique of data collection was done through written test, questionnaire, mentor’s feedback, reflection journals and images from learning activities. Students’ interest can be seen from the questionaire and images from learning activity, while students’ understanding can be seen from the test given. Based on the data analysis, there is an improvement of students’ understanding in learning physics. The result of the questionaire and feedback of the observer showed that students and observer gave positive response to the using of teaching tools.
