Abstract

Kedinamisan dunia mengarahkan manusia untuk menjadi pribadi yang tidak dapat berhenti untuk belajar. Manusia akan terus menempuh proses pembelajaran di seumur hidupnya (life long learning). Melalui pendidikan siswa dituntut untuk memahami dan bukan hanya mengetahui. Siswa harus ikut serta dalam proses pembelajaran dengan kata lain aktif dan bukan menjadi pendengar yang manis bagi pengajar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas. Penelitian ini dilakukan peneliti secara langsung di dalam kelas dan bertujuan untuk memperbaiki proses belajar mengajar di dalam kelas. Pelajaran matematika merupakan pelajaran yang membutuhkan pemahaman konsep yang baik supaya siswa mampu menerapkannya dalam memecahkan masalah serta pengembangan cara berpikirnya. Penerapan metode active learning khususnya dalam pelajaran matematika dapat merangsang siswa kelas IX SMP A Kristen di Temanggung menjadi lebih memahami dan tertarik terhadap mata pelajaran ini. Metode ini dapat diterapkan dalam setiap topik pada pelajaran matematika. Penerapan metode active learning sangat membantu pendidikan dalam pencapaian tujuan pembelajaran lebih maksimal. / Dynamic world directs people to become a person who can not stop to learn. People are need to learn in every time of their life (life long learning). Through education students are required to understand and not just know. Students must participate in the learning process in other words active and not only to listen passively to the teacher. Researcher used classroom action research. This research is useful to improve teaching and learning in the classroom. Mathematics is lessons that need a good understanding of concepts so the student should be able to apply them in solving problems and developing a way of thinking. Application of active learning methods, especially in mathematics can stimulate student become more understanding and interested in these subjects. This method can be applied to any subject in math. Application of active learning method is very helpful for education in the achievement of learning goals.
