Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar matematika siswa kelas sebelas IPS di salah satu sekolah Kristen Sekampung Lampung Timur dengan menggunakan metode pendekatan individual. Desain penelitian merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan tiga siklus terhadap lima orang siswa. Instrumen penelitian sebagai alat pengumpulan data meliputi lesson plan, feedback dari observer, jurnal refleksi, soal dan hasil ulangan siswa, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Instrumen penelitian tersebut divalidasi dengan tanda tangan observer pada feedback, soal dan hasil nilai siswa dalam bentuk daftar nilai yang ditandatangani oleh guru, jurnal refleksi, dan dokumentasi dalam bentuk foto, dan wawancara dalam bentuk video. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode pendekatan individual dapat memotivasi siswa dalam belajar matematika dan yang akhirnya mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan terpenuhinya indikator-indikator motivasi seperti kehadiran siswa dalam pembelajaran, keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran, siswa mengerjakan tugas yang diberikan, siswa bekerjasama untuk memecahkan soal, dan adanya keinginan untuk berhasil.

The purpose of this research is to improve student’s motivation in learning math for grade XI IPS in a senior high school in Sekampung east lampung by using individual approach. This research is an action research (PTK) with three cycles that had five students as the object. Some instruments were used to collect the data are lesson plan, feedback from observer, journal reflection, student’s exam, student’s report, documentation, and interview. The instrument have been validated and signed by the teacher as observer, student’s report which signed by the teacher, journal reflection, and documentation include photos and videos. The research shows that using individual approach can improve student’s motivation in learning math which able to increase their learning. It was indicated by meet the motivation’s indicators such as student’s absence, enthusiastic in learning process, eager to do their tasks, cooperate while solve the math’s problems, and willing to be success in their learning.
