Abstract
Pelajaran Matematika bukanlah sesuatu yang mudah diserap oleh siswa sehingga perlu metode yang tepat. Penulis menggunakan metode diskusi untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas XI IPA, dengan jumlah siswa 17 orang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu SMU di Nias Utara. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar observasi pembelajaran, jurnal refleksi, umpan balik mentor, rencana pembelajaran, dan hasil tes siswa. Data yang telah diperoleh kemudian diolah. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan memberikan penjelasan secara deskriptif. Dari hasil penelitian dapat ditemukan bahwa penggunaan metode diskusi pada pembelajaran Matematika kelas XI IPA dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa. Siswa juga menjadi peduli terhadap sesama manusia ciptaan Allah.

Mathematic is not an easy lesson to be understand by students. That is why we need a proper teaching method. The writer use discussion method to increase students’ concept on mathematic in grade XI science, with 17 number of student. This research was done in one of the high school in Nias, North Sumatra. The research method used in this paper is a classroom action research approach. The process of collecting data was made by using writer’s observation, journal reflection, mentor’s feedbacks, lesson plans, and students’ tes result. The data will then be analyzed by giving explanation descriptively. From this research, it can concluded that the use of discussion method on mathematic lesson in grade XI science can increase students’ result on mathematic. Students become more caring as well to others as brothers and sisters in Christ.
