Abstract

Pada umumnya siswa menganggap bahwa pelajaran fisika adalah pelajaran yang sulit dan tidak bermanfaat. Tanggapan ini didukung dengan cara pengajaran guru fisika yang monoton dan tidak terlihat bersemangat. Hal ini berdampak kepada siswa, sehingga siswa menjadi tidak termotivasi dalam belajar fisika dan pasif saat pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu melalui Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dilakukan metode demonstrasi untuk memotivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran fisika sehingga siswa aktif di kelas. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa SMP, pengumpulan data yang dipakai adalah pengamatan dari guru mentor dan teacher educator, serta jurnal refleksi yang ditulis pada saat dilakukan penelitian. Dari pengumpulan data yang ada, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode demonstrasi dapat meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran fisika, sehingga siswa aktif pada saat pelajaran fisika di sekolah. / Students generally assumed that physics is a difficult and useless subject. This assumption supported by teacher’s teaching method which is monotonous and unenthusiastic. It is influenced students and as the consequence, the students were unmotivated in learning physics and passive during teaching and learning. Classroom action research is done by using demonstration method to motivate students in learning physics and being active in class. This research subject is junior high school students, data collected by using observation from collaborator and teacher educator and reflection journal written during the research. From the data collection, it can be concluded that personal approach and varied intonation in demonstration method can increase students’ motivation so the students became active in learning physics in schools.
