Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of company size on firm value in the noncyclical consumer sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2019-2023 period. Company size is considered one of the important factors that influence the stability, competitiveness, and ability of a company to deal with market risk. Firm value, as measured by the Price to Book Value (PBV) ratio, reflects the market's perception of the company's performance and future prospects. This study uses secondary data from the company's financial statements analyzed by multiple linear regression method to see the relationship between variables. The results show that firm size has no significant influence on firm value, although other variables such as leverage and profitability show a significant influence on firm value. This finding supports signaling theory, where firm size can provide positive signals to investors, although empirical results show variations. This study provides important implications for firm management in strategically managing firm size to increase firm value. In addition, the results of this study are also useful for investors in understanding the relationship between firm size and firm value to make better investment decisions / Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh ukuran perusahaan terhadap nilai perusahaan pada sektor non-siklikal konsumen yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2019–2023. Ukuran perusahaan dianggap sebagai salah satu faktor penting yang memengaruhi stabilitas, daya saing, dan kemampuan perusahaan untuk menghadapi risiko pasar. Nilai perusahaan, yang diukur melalui rasio Price to Book Value (PBV), mencerminkan persepsi pasar terhadap kinerja dan prospek perusahaan di masa mendatang. Studi ini menggunakan data sekunder dari laporan keuangan perusahaan yang dianalisis dengan metode regresi linier berganda untuk melihat hubungan antara variabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ukuran perusahaan tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap nilai perusahaan, meskipun variabel lain seperti leverage dan profitabilitas menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap nilai perusahaan. Temuan ini mendukung teori signaling, di mana ukuran perusahaan dapat memberikan sinyal positif kepada investor, meskipun hasil empiris menunjukkan variasi. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi manajemen perusahaan dalam mengelola ukuran perusahaan secara strategis untuk meningkatkan nilai perusahaan. Selain itu, hasil penelitian ini juga bermanfaat bagi investor dalam memahami hubungan antara ukuran perusahaan dan nilai perusahaan untuk membuat keputusan investasi yang lebih baik.
