Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil observasi, diidentifikasi bahwa siswa tidak termotivasi terhadap kuis yang diberikan oleh guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi siswa melalui penggunaan kuis dalam bentuk permainan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu Sekolah Dasar Kristen yang terdapat di Temanggung, Jawa Tengah pada periode waktu 13 Juli 2009 sampai 28 November 2009 dengan subyek penelitian adalah 27 siswa kelas dua tahun ajaran 2009/2010. Desain penelitian yang dipakai adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang terdiri dari tiga siklus. Instrumen penelitian meliputi observasi, rencana pelajaran, umpan balik, jurnal refleksi, serta hasil refleksi siswa. Hipotesis penelitian ini adalah dengan penggunaan kuis dalam bentuk permainan siswa dapat termotivasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan kuis dalam bentuk permainan siswa kelas dua SD X termotivasi pada mata pelajaran IPA. / Based on observation, it was identified that the students weren’t motivated through teacher’s quiz. Therefore, the research aims to increase students’ motivation through the use of quiz through play. The research took place in one of Christian School in Temanggung, Central Java, on 13 July – 28 November 2009 in 2009/2010 academic year, with the subject of the research consists of 27 grade two students. The design of this research is classroom action research which consists of three cycles. The instruments of this research are observation, lesson plan, feed back, reflection journal, and students’ reflection sheet. The hypothesis of this research is by the use of quiz through play, grade two students’ motivation can be increased. The result of this research indicated that the use of quiz through play can increase grade two students’ motivation in science.
