Abstract

Arjuna Farm adalah salah satu UMKM di bidang peternakan kambing dan domba yang berlokasi di Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Provinsi Sumatera Utara, dan menyediakan berbagai layanan seperti aqiqah, qurban, susu kambing, katering, serta pengolahan pupuk. Menurut Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), populasi domba dan kambing mengalami penurunan dari 36.296.847 ekor pada tahun 2019 menjadi 35.013.260 ekor pada tahun 2022. Penurunan populasi atau kematian ternak dapat disebabkan oleh berbagai faktor seperti penyakit, kekurangan gizi, kondisi lingkungan, hingga praktik manajemen pengelolaan ternak yang tidak tepat. Permasalahan tersebut juga dialami oleh Arjuna Farm dimana sebagian besar kematian ternak dikarenakan penyakit dan kesalahan treatment dan manajemen pengelolaan yang kurang tepat. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, penulis mengimplementasikan RFID Ear Tag yang dapat terintegrasi dengan sistem informasi peternakan berbasis web pada ternak. Dengan pemanfaatan teknologi ini, mitra dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dalam manajemen pemeliharaan melalui pencatatan data ternak secara terstruktur. Proyek ini dilaksanakan dari tahap inisiasi, perencanaan bersama mitra, pelaksanaan, pemantauan dan kontrol, hingga tahap penutupan yang berlangsung dari bulan Juni hingga September. Dalam periode ini, tim berhasil memasang RFID Ear Tag pada 80 ternak, memberikan pelatihan, serta pendampingan dan evaluasi berkala terhadap hasil implementasi. Setelah dua bulan masa penerapan dan evaluasi, kegiatan ini terbukti efektif dalam menurunkan angka kematian ternak ke tingkat optimal. Selain itu, perawatan ternak menjadi lebih terfokus, yang diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak positif pada proses pembiakan di masa mendatang./ Arjuna Farm is a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) in the field of sheep and goat farming, located in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. It offers various services such as aqiqah, qurban, goat milk, catering, and fertilizer processing. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the population of sheep and goats declined from 36,296,847 in 2019 to 35,013,260 in 2022. This decline in livestock population or increased mortality can be attributed to various factors, including disease, malnutrition, environmental conditions, and improper livestock management practices. Arjuna Farm has faced similar challenges, with a majority of livestock deaths resulting from disease, treatment errors, and inadequate management practices. To address these issues, the author implemented RFID Ear Tags, which integrate with a web-based livestock information system. With this technology, partners can enhance productivity in livestock maintenance management by systematically recording livestock data. The project was carried out from the initiation stage, planning with partners, execution, monitoring and control, to the closing stage, spanning from June to September. During this period, the team successfully installed RFID tags on 80 livestock, conducted training, and provided regular assistance and evaluations of the implementation outcomes. After a two-month implementation and evaluation phase, this initiative proved effective in reducing livestock mortality to an optimal level. Additionally, treatment efforts have become more focused, which is expected to positively impact breeding processes in the future.
