Abstract

Indonesia menggunakan identitasnya sebagai negara kepulauan dengan 70% wilayah perairan melalui Diplomasi Air, memperkuat perannya dalam tata kelola air global. Partisipasi aktif dalam forum internasional seperti World Water Forum ke-10 untuk menunjukkan komitmen Indonesia terhadap keberlanjutan dan kesejahteraan global. Indonesia membangun kerja sama strategis dalam pengelolaan sumber daya air, mempromosikan keamanan air, serta mengatasi tantangan perubahan iklim. Dengan pendekatan kolaboratif, Indonesia tidak hanya memperjuangkan kepentingan nasionalnya tetapi juga memperkuat citranya sebagai negara yang proaktif dan bertanggung jawab di panggung internasional. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi kepentingan nasional Indonesia terhadap keamanan terkait air yang diimplementasikan melalui kompendium proyek melalui World Water Forum ke-10. Penelitian ini menerapkan teori Konstruktivisme, dibantu oleh konsep norma sosial, identitas dan persepsi global untuk memahami sejauh mana peran Indonesia untuk berkontribusi dalam krisis air global melalui komitmen yang telah ditetapkan. Bersifat kualitatif, penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dan menggunakan sumber data primer dan sekunder melalui teknik analisis data naratif. Diplomasi air mencerminkan komitmen global untuk menangani krisis air melalui kolaborasi internasional. Sebagai tuan rumah World Water Forum ke-10, Indonesia menonjolkan pentingnya pengelolaan air berkelanjutan, mitigasi perubahan iklim, dan integrasi agenda global, seperti SDG 6, dengan solusi inovatif dan kerja sama multilateral lintas sektor. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Indonesia memperkuat identitasnya sebagai aktor global dalam memanfaatkan diplomasi air melalui peran aktif di WWF ke-10, mempromosikan inisiatif-inisiatif sebagai Langkah besar bentuk komitmen Indonesia. Upaya ini menunjukkan keberhasilan Indonesia dalam menggabungkan prioritas nasional dengan norma internasional, menciptakan solusi berkelanjutan untuk pengelolaan air dan mitigasi perubahan iklim. / Indonesia leverages its identity as an archipelagic nation, with 70% of its territory consisting of water, through Water Diplomacy, strengthening its role in global water governance. Active participation in international forums, such as the 10th World Water Forum, demonstrates Indonesia’s commitment to sustainability and global well-being. Indonesia fosters strategic cooperation in water resource management, promotes water security, and addresses climate change challenges. Through a collaborative approach, Indonesia not only advances its national interests but also reinforces its image as a proactive and responsible global actor. Accordingly, this study explores Indonesia’s national interests in water security, implemented through a compendium of projects under the 10th World Water Forum. It applies Constructivist theory, supported by the concepts of social norms, identity, and global perception, to assess Indonesia’s role in contributing to the global water crisis through its established commitments. This qualitative research employs a descriptive research method and utilizes primary and secondary data sources through narrative data analysis techniques. Water Diplomacy reflects a global commitment to addressing the water crisis through international collaboration. As the host of the 10th World Water Forum, Indonesia highlights the importance of sustainable water management, climate change mitigation, and the integration of global agendas, such as SDG 6, through innovative solutions and cross-sectoral multilateral cooperation. This study concludes that Indonesia strengthens its identity as a global actor by utilizing water diplomacy and actively participating in the 10th World Water Forum, promoting key initiatives as a major step in its commitment. These efforts illustrate Indonesia’s success in aligning national priorities with international norms, creating sustainable solutions for water management and climate change mitigation.
