Abstract

The Israel-Palestine conflict, which escalated on October 7, 2023, has drawn significant international attention and disrupted global peace. Diplomatic representatives from various countries are working to mediate an immediate ceasefire and restore international peace to a stable state. Unfortunately, the United States, as a superpower in the global political order, often demonstrates bias toward Israel, particularly through its repeated use of veto power, which has hindered efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire. Additionally, the US continues to send billions of dollars in military aid to support Israel's military actions in the Gaza Strip. This bias is a long-standing pattern in US foreign policy. This study examines US bias toward Israel in the Israel-Palestine conflict from 2017 to 2024. Using the theory of Neoclassical Realism, it incorporates key concepts from International Relations, such as power, national interests, and levels of analysis at both domestic and systemic levels. This study employs qualitative research approach, specifically comparative-historical methods, to provide a detailed analysis of the dynamics of US support for Israel during this period. At the domestic level, factors such as lobbying by interest groups, US public support for Israel, and the US military and technology sector's reliance on Israel have shaped US foreign policy on the Israel-Palestine conflict. At the systemic level, the increasing involvement of Russia and China in the Middle East has also influenced US foreign policy decisions regarding the conflict.
