Abstract

At PT Victory International Futures Jakarta, the main problem that often arises is miscommunication between Generation X and Generation Z, which is influenced by different ways of communicating and working patterns between the two generations. The purpose of this study is to analyze the barriers to communication between generations X and Z at PT Victory International Futures Jakarta. And to analyze the factors that cause barriers to communication. The theory used is the power distance theory of communication. This study is a qualitative study through interviews. The sample in this study were two Chief Marketing Managers, two Managers and one HRD. The results of the study show that at PT Victory International Futures Jakarta there is conflict and miscommunication between Generation X and Generation Z, which is influenced by different ways of communicating and working patterns between the two generations. This study concludes that the diversity of personalities and generations at PT Victory International Futures Jakarta is an important factor in creating innovative, collaborative and harmonious teamwork. This diversity allows for unique contributions from each individual, both in terms of creativity and analytical skills, which enrich the decision-making process and strategy implementation. Despite challenges such as differences in communication preferences between generations X and Z and work environment disruptions, steps such as cross-generational technology training, providing conducive workspaces, and collaborative leadership have successfully bridged these differences, creating more effective and productive team synergy. / Pada PT Victory International Futures Jakarta, masalah utama yang sering muncul adalah miskomunikasi antara Generasi X dan Generasi Z, yang dipengaruhi oleh cara berkomunikasi dan pola kerja yang berbeda antara kedua generasi tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ingin menganalisis apa saja hambatan komunikasi antara generasi X dan Z pada perusahaan PT Victory International Futures Jakarta. Serta ingin menganalisis faktor-faktor penyebab timbulnya hambatan-hambatan dalam komunikasi. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori power distance komunikasi. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif melalui wawancara. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah dua Chief Marketing Manager, dua Manager dan Satu HRD. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di PT Victory International Futures Jakarta terjadi konflik dan miskomunikasi antara Generasi X dan Generasi Z, yang dipengaruhi oleh cara berkomunikasi dan pola kerja yang berbeda antara kedua generasi tersebut. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa keberagaman kepribadian dan generasi di PT Victory International Futures Jakarta menjadi faktor penting dalam menciptakan kerja tim yang inovatif, kolaboratif, dan harmonis. Keberagaman ini memungkinkan kontribusi unik dari setiap individu, baik dari sisi kreativitas maupun kemampuan analitis, yang memperkaya proses pengambilan keputusan dan pelaksanaan strategi. Meski terdapat tantangan seperti perbedaan preferensi komunikasi antara generasi X dan Z serta gangguan lingkungan kerja, langkah seperti pelatihan teknologi lintas generasi, penyediaan ruang kerja kondusif, dan kepemimpinan kolaboratif berhasil menjembat
