Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Electronic Word-of Mouth (e-WOM) dan media sosial, khususnya Instagram dan TikTok, terhadap perkembangan usaha kuliner tradisional di Jakarta, yang dipilih sebagai lokasi penelitian karena perannya sebagai pusat budaya dan ekonomi serta tingginya penetrasi media sosial di kalangan masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-WOM dan media sosial memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian konsumen dan pertumbuhan usaha kuliner tradisional. Promosi melalui platform digital ini terbukti mampu meningkatkan minat terhadap makanan tradisional, meskipun masih terdapat dominasi makanan internasional di pasar lokal. Hasil survei mengidentifikasi media sosial dan rekomendasi pelanggan secara online sebagai salah satu faktor utama yang memengaruhi popularitas makanan tradisional. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan strategi promosi dan pemasaran melalui media sosial dengan memanfaatkan fitur interaktif dan konten menarik serta penguatan strategi e-WOM melalui ulasan positif pelanggan. Selain itu, inovasi dalam penyajian dan integrasi teknologi, seperti aplikasi pemesanan digital, juga disarankan untuk mempermudah aksesibilitas bagi konsumen. Strategi ini tidak hanya dapat meningkatkan daya tarik dan daya saing makanan tradisional, tetapi juga membantu melestarikan identitas budaya Indonesia di tengah arus globalisasi yang semakin pesat. Kombinasi e-WOM dan media sosial yang efektif dapat menjadi alat penting untuk menguatkan eksistensi kuliner tradisional Indonesia, baik di pasar domestik maupun internasional. / This study aims to analyze the influence of Electronic Word-of-Mouth (e WOM) and social media, particularly Instagram and TikTok, on the development of traditional culinary businesses in Jakarta, chosen as the research location due to its role as a cultural and economic hub and its high social media penetration among the population. The findings reveal that e WOM and social media significantly impact consumer purchasing decisions and the growth of traditional culinary businesses. Promotions through these digital platforms have proven effective in increasing interest in traditional cuisine, although international food still dominates the local market. Survey results identify social media and online customer recommendations as key factors influencing the popularity of traditional foods. This study recommends enhancing promotional and marketing strategies on social media by utilizing interactive features and engaging content, as well as strengthening e-WOM strategies through positive customer reviews. Additionally, innovations in presentation and the integration of technology, such as digital ordering applications, are suggested to improve consumer accessibility. These strategies not only enhance the appeal and competitiveness of traditional foods but also help preserve Indonesia's cultural identity amidst the rapid pace of globalization. An effective combination of e-WOM and social media can serve as a vital tool in strengthening the existence of traditional Indonesian cuisine in both domestic and international markets.
