Abstract
Female gender detection is normally done by obstetricians, but it has its own complication which is because of the poor image resolution and the difficulty of gender detection through naked eye or computer. The method used in automatic gender detection is Template Matching Method by the help of digital image
processing. The previous study has examined the application to recognize the male gender, therefore, to complement previous research, the application is included with an application to detect fetal of female genital automatically. There are five stages in the detection method which are : pre-enhancement,
enhacement, segmentation, template matching, and threshold matching. Different from previous studies, detection of female gender is using different method of thresholding such as To Zero Thresholding and Binary Thresholding to find three
white lines. There are three test types which is the functional test for testing the detection algorithm, performance test to get the duration of process, and accuration test to get the success percentage of sex fetal detection. Testing result using template matching method needs sexual organ which visually apparent (vulva, labia dan, clitoris). Application could detect 5 samples from 10 female samples, which is 50%. Success percentage can be raised by adding more sample and template along with improving the image resolution of digital ultrasound.
