Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas bagaimana kurangnya tujuan dan arah yang jelas dalam sebuah permainan dapat berdampak negatif terhadap struktur game serta pengalaman pemain. Proyek ini mengeksplorasi penerapan elemen gamifikasi, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan Story dan Aesthetics berdasarkan kerangka elemen permainan dari Jesse Schell, untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan pemain serta konsistensi visual guna menciptakan pengalaman bermain yang lebih imersif. Metode yang digunakan meliputi studi pustaka dari artikel, buku, dan situs web, serta studi kasus terhadap game yang telah berhasil untuk menganalisis faktor- faktor yang membuatnya efektif. Temuan utama dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tujuan sangat berkaitan dengan proses. Seperti halnya sebuah game yang membutuhkan cerita sebagai dasar untuk membangun tampilan visual dan meningkatkan pengalaman pemain (Schell, 2019), perancangan juga memerlukan proses yang berfungsi sebagai 'cerita,' yang akan menciptakan pengalaman yang menyenangkan baik bagi perancangnya. / This study discusses how a lack of clear goals and direction in a game can negatively impact its structure and the player’s experience. The project explores the application of gamification elements, particularly those related to Story and Aesthetics based on Jesse Schell's game element framework, to enhance player engagement and visual consistency in order to create a more immersive gaming experience. The methods used include a literature review from articles, books, and websites, as well as case studies of successful games to analyze the factors that make them effective. The main findings of this research show that goals are closely related to the process. Just as a game requires a story as the foundation for building its visual design and enhancing the player experience (Schell, 2019), design also requires a process that functions as a 'story,' which will create an enjoyable experience for the designer.
