Abstract

Hasilnya, membuktikan bahwa pendekatan desain sirkular berbasis kearifan lokal dapat menjawab tantangan lingkungan secara kreatif sekaligus memenuhi kebutuhan konsumen / Amid an increasingly alarming environmental crisis, where single-use plastic wate has become a serious threat to ecosystems, an innovative packaging idea was born-rooted in the philosophy of “nothing goes to waste.” This packaging is made from solid soap that can be used as actual soap once its initial function as packaging has ended. The project began with in-depth exploration, including a literature review from sustainability journals and interviews with pharmaceutical experts to understand the properties and material interactions both between ingredients and skin. The design process was also informed by user surveys to identify consumer needs for packaging that is not only environmentally friendly but also ergonomic and multifunctional. The creative process involved recipe experimentation, testing ingredient, combinations to ensure safety, formula stability, slower solubility compared to regular soap, and overall durability. Molding techniques were adapted to produce precise forms while preserving the natural characteristics of the materials. Ergonomic aspects were evaluated through various prototypes to ensure ease of daily use. The final stage included user testing, which confirmed a positive reception of the concept packaging. The results demonstrate that a circular design approach, grounded in local wisdom, can creatively address environmental challenges while simultaneously meeting consumer needs.
